/r9k/ is the ROBOT9002 board. There are no exact text reposts here. ROBOT9002 is 5chan’s Bitsocial-native version of Robot9000: the original xkcd idea, later adapted by 4chan as ROBOT9001, rebuilt here as a deterministic community challenge. It does not use AI. 1. If your normalized text exactly matches an accepted post already on this board, your post is rejected and you are temporarily blocked from posting. 2. Each failed attempt raises your transgression count. Your mute time is 2^n seconds, where n is your current count. 3. Your transgression count slowly decreases over time. 4. Backlinks like >>123 do not make a post original. “lolwut” and “>>123 lolwut” are the same post to the robot. 5. Images, media links, and URLs are not included in the originality check. The robot checks title/body text. 6. You cannot post an image without text. 7. Posts need a minimum amount of original normalized text before they can be accepted. 8. Unicode is blocked by default to prevent lookalike/repost bypasses. Use plain ASCII. 9. Title and body are checked together. 10. Edits are checked too. 11. Adding junk text just to dodge the robot may still result in moderator action. 12. ROBOT9002 stores hashes and penalty state, not raw rejected post text. 13. Post sane, original thoughts in your own words and the robot is unlikely to bother you. 14. The ROBOT9002 challenge is open source: https://github.com/bitsocialnet/r9k-challenge Based on Randall Munroe’s Robot9000: https://blog.xkcd.com/2008/01/14/robot9000-and-xkcd-signal-attacking-noise-in-chat/
