A driver named Roberto Arellano Acevedo died days after being beaten by a mob in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on June 24, 2026. The incident occurred when his car was surrounded by World Cup fans celebrating Mexico’s victory over the Czech Republic. When the crowd began pressing against his vehicle, he suddenly accelerated, plowing into the pedestrians and injuring 17 people. The crowd subsequently attacked and beat him.
