“I have this.”

> OP here:
I first heard about this film by chance in September this year. Before then, I’d never even known it existed. I came across it on a Douban entry in China and learned that it was a cult film, so I started looking for it.
At first, I thought I’d be able to find it easily with a Google search, but it wasn’t as simple as I’d expected. Some Reddit users had discussed the film, and one of them shared a download link on Archive.org, but unfortunately, Archive.org removed it.
I also tried looking for it via BitTorrent and on the Tor network, but came up empty-handed. I went back to Douban, where one user had posted a photo of a QR code for adding them on Tencent QQ. I added them, and they sent me the original film directly.
I watched it at an accelerated speed. The picture quality was like VHS; the film seemed to be cobbled together from things already online. The picture and sound were both, frankly, f**king awful.>>218 (OP)

Finally got around to watching it. I liked it a lot, great acting and directing. Despite the artistic licenses, it does a great work showing how chaotic and bizarre postwar Italy was, and how fascism came to be.

Might actually watch this. Wouldn't mind learning a bit more about him.
Sky Italy have done some kino. Gomorrah and ZeroZeroZero were absolutely brilliant.>>222
decent digits.
Watched first 2 episodes. Overall positive. It's so close to hitting 9/10 territory and absolute greatness in parts, but something just holds it back.
The style took a while to get use to. The beginning left me a little confused with the constant cutting around. End of episode 1 was absolutely kino though. Had me hooked.
Beginning of episode 2 with the prison sequence was hillarious. I don't know enough about Mussolini to know whether he was as a bumbling fool as this in life or not, or whether the media can't be too based.
I love the music. One of the Chemical Brothers I think I saw. Didn't the Mussolini era herlad an Art Deco Futuristic architectural period in Italy? Some of the cool angles and shots with the electronic 'jagged' music are leading me to believe the style of what we see is Mussolini inviting him into his world and his vision of the future....
All in all, it's just interesting.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm learning and thinking a lot.

Padme liked "democracy" too much.
Whatever democracy means, even in "space" (business as usual).
And Anakin is too dumb and impulsive to rule an empire. He would get poisoned, or a bomb would kill him, his shuttle would explode by "accident", after a few years. If he listens to a dark Padme maybe he could pull it off. But she likes "democracy".
Sick Padme design though. >>204 (OP)
Absolutely impossible for Big Media to ever show European-styled empires succeeding.>>204 (OP)

What is your least to most favourite Alien film and why? I am including the series as well.
>>190 (OP)
I realized recently that the most interesting thing about the alien saga in the the big black cockroach monster. It's actually the androids. First movie, the android, Ash, is evil. Then, in aliens, it's benevolent. Alien 3 doesn't really have an android, or maybe at the end where it does the bidding of Wayland again in a more diplomatic way.
In resurection, there is an interesting thing. The android (played by Wynona Rider), is, as Ripley says it, more humane than humans. So we have a model that actually exceeds humans, not in intelligence, but in empathy. What is your least to most favourite Alien film and why? I am including the series as well.

it's quite endearing knowing the new generation will experience the MAGIC of one of our best loved childhood franchises.
And not just that, we can all relive the fantasy for another 2 decades! :)>>183 (OP)

What would a new Western movie in 2026 need to do to captivate modern audiences and revive the dead genre?
>>175 (OP)
that gook film 'Hope' looked like it could be kino if they scrapped 90% of the ideas and leaned into the modern western element.
western = frontier kino, we need to look at other frontiers in modern history
>islamic jihadis in sahel
>some shit about whaling stations in South Georgia, etc
>Russian eastward expansion, maybe something about Alaska
>dystopian sci-fi of the chinks treating America like backwards nativesWhat would a new Western movie in 2026 need to do to captivate modern audiences and revive the dead genre?

It shoudn't even be called True Detective any more. Imagine making such bullshit and then getting to ride high reviews from someone elses work, lol.>>158 (OP)
